In this tutorial we will take a look at how to add Dimensions directly inside HydroSym.
Dimensions allow you to define exact measurements for geometry, supporting documentation, manufacturing preparation, and clearer communication.
How to add a Dimension
You summon a Dimension using the Dimension tool in the sidebar, or by using its shortcut (if assigned).
Select the first point: this is where the dimension starts.
Select the second point, HydroSym calculates the distance instantly
Move your mouse to position the dimension. And left click to place it.
Editing and OSNAP
To edit a dimension, double-click it, or press Shift + Enter to enter a new value
OSNAP ensures precise snapping to corners, centers, and midpoints. This keeps all dimensions accurate and consistent.
You can also place a dimension first, and then draw or stretch geometry to match it.
Dimension Styles
Customize dimensions via the Dimension Styles menu in the Format tab: here you can adjust scale, text, arrows, line styles, and formatting.
When selecting multiple dimensions, these settings apply to all at once.

Dimensions provide precise control and cleaner documentation, all directly inside HydroSym.
