Technical Information
General Description
The PDS161, Differential, Pressure Sensing Valve,
when used in conjunction with a remote control valve
such as a RDH081 or a RDH101, acts as any relief,
sequence or accumulator unloading valve. When used
alone and vented to tank, the PDS161 is a simple 3.5
or 6.9 Bar (50 or 100 PSI), internally piloted, non-
adjustable (fixed) relief. Any back pressure on the vent
line will add to the resistance of the spring.
Operation
When inlet pressure and vent pressure exceed the
setting of the remote pilot valve or control valve (the
PDS161 cartridge is not adjustable; the remote pilot
valve or control valve is adjustable), internal pilot flow
creates a pressure imbalance across the valve spool
allowing the valve to open. Flow is then permitted from
the inlet to the outlet. Once the vent pressure falls
below the reset pressure of the remote pilot valve or if
the control valve is closed, the PDS161 cartridge will
close.
