Characteristics
DWK series with bypass check valve.
Series DWL
Pressure reducing valves of the DWL/DWK series main-
tain a constant pressure on the secondary side (port A)
at a set value.
To achieve accurate response the valve is fitted with a
sliding spool. A flow control valve is located in the spool
to maintain a constant pilot flow.
Characteristic curve
The drawings only show the adjustment type code 5 =
turning knob with ratchet.
Graphic display and function
The symbol shown in the characteristics corresponds to
the DIN/ISO representation for pressure reducing valves
with open neutral position, i.e. the valve goes into the
control setting only when the set secondary pressure is
reached. The Parker valves of the series DWL and DWK
are, in contrast, closed in the neutral position. The ad-
vantage here is that the secondary build-up pressure is
achieved more softly. Pressure peaks or pressure waves
do not reach the actuator.
If the pressure on the secondary side A increases above
the set pressure on the valve, the excess oil is directed
through the pilot valve to reduce pressure. The pilot oil
flow is directed to tank via port Y.
* The nominal flow volume is a recommended value for projecting,
and is not the application limit for the valve which is dependent on
the individual permitted pressure increase value.
