The PDB12PZ is a two stage spool type
proportional pressure relief valve. If the
pressure at port 1 rises above the setting
dened by the electrical control signal,
the pilot stage opens and allows ow
from the back of the main piston to port 2.
The resulting pressure imbalance causes
the main piston to open against the return
spring and allows ow from port 1 to 2.
As a function of the electrical signal, the
relief pressure at port 1 can be changed
steplessly.
The valve is inversely controlled: the
lowest pressure is created at the highest
current. With decreasing control current
the pilot-stage closes, the main stage
follows the pilot-stage and at port 1
a counter pressure is created, e.g. to
accelerate the motor of a fan.
The max. pressure can be pre-set
mechanically.
